We award our grants to 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations with projects and portfolios especially for the youngest in New Jersey and Vermont.

On Oct. 1, Turrell Fund President of Programs Evan Delgado and Program Associate Dareen Abukwaik attended @programsforparents Early Childhood Innovation & Impact Gala, celebrating 40 years of service.
Turrell also extends its congratulations to the 2024 Honorees: Michelle Adubato, Kathryn Kent, Sara Peña, Senator M. Teresa Ruiz, and Nadine Wright-Arbubakrr!
Programs for Parents (PFP) is a child care resource and referral (CCR&R) agency that supports children and families through education, referrals, best practices, and access to financial resources.
Turrell Fund thanks PFP for its incredible work in supporting children and families in Essex County. Congratulations on 40 years of service!

Good Beginnings of Central Vermont`s mission is to make the transition into parenthood easy through workshops and resources designed for their needs.

With the school season in full swing, @ZEROTOTHREE highlights the importance of social-emotional skills for young children as they prepare to enter kindergarten.
Organizations focused on families with children ages 0-3 are implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) skills within their programs to promote healthy development. ZERO TO THREE found that “social-emotional development goes hand-in-hand with cognitive development as the bricks and mortar of early brain architecture.”

The Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic (BGCPP) provides children with a safe after-school space with academic, athletic and artistic programming. Students get to work on their homework for an hour, then enjoy an activity of their choice.

ONE Arts Center, another 2024 Landon Award winner, is an arts-based organization committed to providing high quality child care and family support.
Landon supports ONE Arts Family Create Together Weekend Workshops to get families making art together. Other programs also include early learning centers, all ages art education, and all abilities inclusive play workshops.

Oasis serves women and children in Paterson, providing them with educational and social service programs.

Story time is more fun with the Franklin Grand Isle Bookmobile!
Another 2024 Landon Award winner, Franklin Grand Isle (FGI) Bookmobile is an independent mobile library that brings books to children & families throughout Northwestern VT.
Landon supports the Little Readers Program, which prepares children ages 0-6 with reading skills so they’ll be ready for school! Young readers listen to a story then do a hands-on activity.

Check out the next generation of @wharton_arts Suzuki Violin Program as they completed their summer camp program! During the Violin Explorers Summer Camp, students went from building box violins to being fitted for their first violin.
Wharton Arts provides accessible programming and classes to children of all ages. Wharton Arts also offers tuition-free after-school music programming for students in Paterson.

On August 13, Turrell visited @respectlifeofficenewark Mercy House in Newark as they prepared for the Back-to-School Giveaway.
The Mercy House, operated by the Archdiocese of Newark, provides essential services to women and children. During the Back-to-School Giveaway, backpacks were filled with school supplies and given out to families for free.
Mercy House also offers baby clothes, diapers, wipes, and other necessities for families.
Turrell Fund thanks Mercy House for allowing our team to see its work in action. Thank you for all you do!
