The Turrell Fund is proud to highlight one of the 2024 Landon Award winners: Lund!
What is Lund?
Founded in 1890, Lund is an organization based in Burlington that provides family services and early childhood programs for Vermont families.
Lund’s mission is to help children thrive by empowering families to break cycles of poverty, addiction, and abuse.
Families are given wraparound support with a variety of integrated services such as: adoption, substance use and mental health treatment, early childhood, and family education.
Lund’s Work
Lund’s Family Education Program works in collaboration with the organization’s Residential and Outpatient Treatment to support parents in their recovery journeys.
This program serves children ages 0-6 in Chittenden county, as well as families living at Lund’s Residential Treatment Program.
Family Educators provide in-home visits and work within the residential treatment facility to help parents develop essential parenting skills, ensure safety and supervision, and foster strong attachments with their children.
They also guide parents in understanding developmental milestones and building social connections within their communities.
How Lund’s Helps Families
By focusing on prevention and strengthening family bonds, Lund’s Family Education Program promotes healthier, more resilient families.
Lund also collaborates with state agencies and other nonprofits, offering resources to families that connect them to the community.
Lund’s partners for the program include: the DCF Children’s Development Division and Family Services Division, the Department of Health, and other Chittenden County Children’s Integrated Services (CIS) providers.
The Turrell Fund congratulates Lund and supports its mission of strengthening families so that children can thrive. Thank you for all you do!
